A Call To Family Prayer is a weekend that encourages families to pray together for the salvation of their children and community. Presented by the Advocates of Christ, a fellowship of attorneys and judges who passionately promotes the message that Christ as the solution to crime in our communities, is to provide families with information, encouragement, as well as some “how to’s” for strengthening their family prayer ministry.

Frederick Jones, Evangelist, Professor of Law and Ethics at Kennesaw State University, and former Associate Pastor at Christian Life is the Executive Director of the Advocates. The event is a “celebration of faith and a call to family prayer,” says Jones.

The Advocates of Christ meetings draw a number of distinguished professionals from a variety of industries that will be in attendance. According to Judge Bob Downing participants in the meetings, held the last two years in Atlanta, Georgia, commented that “the attendees and speakers of the conference come because of whom Fred and The Advocates represent - Jesus.”

Each year the Advocates highlight a noteworthy individual who exemplifies the group's shared vision. This year Judge Bob Downing who serves on the First Circuit Court of Appeals will be the featured speaker for “A Call To Family Prayer.” He was elected Judge in 1985. His pre-trial program School or Jail was featured in People Magazine. Recently, Judge Downing was instrumental in bringing City at Peace to Baton Rouge, which is a nationally recognized nonprofit organization that empowers teenagers to create safe, healthy, peaceful lives and communities.

Judge Barbara H. Caldwell of Douglasville, Georgia will bring greetings on Friday evening. On Saturday morning she will speak at the Family Prayer Breakfast. Judge Caldwell has served on the bench for more than 25 years and is the Founder and Executive Director of Higher Standards Foundation, Inc. whose motto is, “Abundant Living Requires Higher Standards.”
